October, 2017 - Local 258 IBEW is pleased to support, again this year, the United Way/Labour fundraising campaigns across BC that help fund so many important intiatives and agencies that provide invaluable assistance to those in need in your community.
This year, union activist, Shop Steward and Unit 5 Executive member Brother Mark Davison has stepped forward to volunteer as a Labour Campaign Associate with the United Way of the Lower Mainland. Fully supported by Local 258 IBEW, Brother Davison is helping to organize and manage fundraising campaigns at union office workplaces in the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley areas.
"As a first time Campaign Associate I am particularly impressed with the tools and resources available on the UWLM website (www.uwlm.ca), including the Interactive Agency Map," says Brother Davison. "Each red dot on the newly updated map shows an agency that receives important funding from the United Way. By clicking on the dot you can learn more about the partner agency."

This year's workplace campaigns are happening now all around the province and run through to the end of November. If you can't find a fundraising effort at your workplace, maybe you should take the initiative and get one going! The United Way can help, you just need to get in touch.
In the lower mainland, you can contact Brother Davison at MarkD@uwlm.ca, or by cell phone at 604-837-0244.
