November, 2015 - Local 258 IBEW members working at Rokstad and at Valley Traffic were instrumental in helping out again this year with the St. Paul's Hospital Foundation "Lights of Hope" spectacular lighting display adorning the front of the hospital on Burrard Street in downtown Vancouver.
The Lights of Hope is an annual fundraising event that supports patient care, research and equipment for the tertiary care hospital that treats patients from across British Columbia. Local 258 IBEW has been a long-standing supporter of this annual event.
Members attended on Halloween morning, Saturday October 31st, to help out with setting up the massive display. The Rokstad crew used their bucket truck to mount the lighting displays while members from Valley Traffic helped control pedestrians and traffic on busy Burrard Street.
Local 258 IBEW Business Manager Doug McKay and ABMs Dan Klassen and Nicole Biernaczyk were also on hand to support and thank the union's volunteers.
The official lighting ceremony takes place on Thursday, November 19th starting at 5:30 pm.
