November, 2014 - November 11th is Remembrance Day.
Since 1919, on this day, Canadians across the country have gathered at commemorative ceremonies, public and private places to observe a moment of silence at the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. We honour and remember the sacrifice of so many who have been killed in active service in our country's Armed Forces as well as acknowledging those who are currently serving.
Many union members will be attending these public ceremonies. For those who can't attend, a number of local Labour Councils will be laying wreaths on behalf of the members of affiiated unions in honour of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice.

"On November 11th pause in a silent moment of remembrance.
This moment is for the men and women who have served, and continue to serve our country during times of war, conflict and peace.
More than 1.5 million Canadians have served our country.
More than 100,000 have died doing so.
Honour their sacrifice. And on November 11th... remember...
