The 2014 United Way Fundraising Campaign is now underway, and this year’s campaign focuses on three key areas:
• Poverty to possibility
• All that kids can be
• Strong communities for all
Helping to build healthy, strong and respectful communities, the United Way helps children, families and seniors and has a long standing relationship with labour that goes back over 30 years. The United Way is fully supported by Local 258 of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers and the IBEW First District. Brother Dan Klassen, Local 258 IBEW Assistant Business Manager, is a member of this year's Campaign Cabinet Labour Committee.
Our union is also sponsoring a labour-loaned rep to the campaign this year and we welcome Sister Patty Frederick in that capacity.
Please consider making a worthwhile donation to this important campaign that supports vital local services in your community. As always, the funds raised stay in your local community and all donations are eligible for a tax credit.
This year’s United Way fundraising campaign runs until December – with the campaign at BC Hydro running from October 16 to November 16 - so please make a generous donation today, either directly or though payroll deduction that will continue to support vital local programs and assistance for those in need in your community.
Please contact Local 258 IBEW if you are interested in starting a fundraising campaign or organizing an event in your workplace.
